All advertising in any Jersey Canada media must conform to the following:

1. Jersey Canada is a signatory supporting the Canadian Dairy Industry Publishing Code of Ethics. This preserves the accuracy and integrity of genetic information published in Canada and assists producers in making the most informed breeding and purchasing decisions. The Code of Ethics stipulates that all dairy cattle genetic information presented for promotion or in an advertisement be truthful (as published by CDN). If the genetic information expressed is not from CDN, the source country, organization and publication date should be included. When presenting genomic evaluations, the Direct Genomic Value for LPI or any trait may be included but only alongside the official genomic evaluation as published by CDN. The underlying rule for publishing lactations, classification records and official herdbook data is to use the most up-to-date information as available on the CDN or breed association websites. 2. We recommend that bulls featured be 100% pure and that all animals advertised be registered and eligible for the Canadian herdbook. Any animal advertised in the Jersey Breeder magazine which is not eligible for registration in the Jersey Canada herdbook will be identified with a bilingual disclaimer such as: “this bull is not eligible for the Canadian herdbook”.
3. As per Jersey Canada’s ‘Overdue Accounts Policy’, the Communication Specialist has the right to decline advertising from clients (member and non-member) who have an overdue account with Jersey Canada. All advertising must be paid upon receipt of invoice.
4. Jersey Canada has no obligation to run an advertisement unless the copy and all of its components (including illustrations, claims, photos, etc.) have been received, reviewed and accepted by the Communications Specialist on the required deadlines. Content that is considered objectionable, misleading, unsuitable for family audiences, or appear fraudulent will not be accepted. The Communication Specialist may, at her discretion, ask that claims be proven. Advertising does not suggest that a product or service has the endorsement of Jersey Canada.
5. If the advertisement is designed at our Jersey Canada office, or there are translation requests, additional fees may apply. These fees are available upon request.
6. The location of the advertisement in the magazine is at the discretion of the Communications Specialist. The advertiser can request a specific location within the publication, but, with the exception of covers and the center spread (which have an added cost), this cannot be guaranteed.
7. Advertisements designed by client advertisers should be of the highest graphic quality possible and follow the size specifications and details indicated on the rate card. Jersey Canada assumes no liability for errors in advertisements submitted from client advertisers, or internally designed advertisements that have been approved by the client advertiser. Advertisers must assume full liability for all content and refunds or discounts will not be provided in instances of errors after approval or advertisement submission.
8. Rates listed on Jersey Canada’s publications rate card or quoted by the Communication Department are not guaranteed for future advertising unless a written agreement/contract is entered into. The Jersey Breeder schedule is subject to change without notice.
9. Jersey Canada has the right to charge the client for late fees if the advertisement copy and/or content is received after deadlines stated unless the Communication Specialist has agreed to an extension ‘without penalty’.
10. If the client wishes to cancel the advertisement AFTER the content deadline, Jersey Canada reserves the right to charge the advertiser up to 50% of the cost of the AD originally booked.
